Our baby will be born an American citizen, to two parents who are American citizens..... | Maternity Photography

This was one of the most endearing and special stories I have been privileged enough to hear and be a part of....This couple welcomed me into their home to capture the blessing of a baby prayed for over and over for several years.  What an amazing thing to be a part of and to capture this maternity photography session.  What a special gift, how loved this baby boy will be.

As we were shooting these tender and special moments, I was asking my normal questions to keep the conversation going and the comfort level easy and laid back (we all know how we "feel" when we are in our last trimester) and I asked mommy, "where are you from"?  It was obvious she was not originally from Georgia at least, as mommy had a very strong French accent and spoke to daddy several times in French when we needed something (like moving furniture!).

She told me that they were both from Guyana off of the coast of Africa.  "Oh!  I have a friend that immigrated from Guyana, what a small world!", I said.  We talked about the country and what they enjoyed about America, and then she told me with a very big smile, over joyed...."our baby boy will be born an American citizen, to two parents who are American citizens!  We just received our citizenship this year!"

We celebrated their citizenship with laughter and joy and as I drove home from that shoot, I remember thinking, how amazing that this country, even with all of our differences in opinion and rights/wrongs is still such a GIFT to those seeking endless opportunity and success.

God Bless, the USA.  XOXO

Hush little baby, don't say a word........ | Newborn Photography

I always tell first time mommy and daddy's to "get ready"....you are going to find out what LOVE is all about now.  I was not any different when I photographed this couple who were expecting their first baby boy.

I even referenced this in my post below for their maternity.  LOL....When I arrived at their home to do the newborn shots, Nana answered the door and told me that mommy was feeding the baby and would be right out.  So I started setting up and Marley the puppy came up for a quick hello and I could tell that EVERYTHING had just changed for this little guy!  Not that he was being mistreated....I am just saying I could sense that he was no longer the center of their world and he was very confused on what in the world was happening.  :)  So I gave him some lovin' because I knew when the little punkin came out, it was ALL OVER for Marley.  Boy was I right, I fell in love with this little guy right from the moment I saw him.  XOXO

hmmmmmm........What will it BEE???

Last weekend I took maternity photographs for a family that is having a gender reveal baby shower and their theme is "What will it be?" Her oldest told me that he wants a baby sister (momma is hoping for a girl as well) but little brother wants a baby brother!!  So excited that they LOVED their gallery and we will be doing the newborn baby photos together.  Love it when I have an opportunity to meet the little punkin!!

Sweet Little Momma, how could I ever make you look anything but beautiful......

This little momma reminded me so much of me when I was 22 and pregnant with my first little bundle of joy.  This maternity photography session was NOT her idea, it was her mom's.  What a smart mom!!  Capturing these special moments before this season is over is such a blessing.....even though we may not feel like we look our best, there is something so special and tender about a mommy getting ready to receive her baby.  These photos will be a time to look back on all of the feelings of love, curiosity, mystery, dreams, insecurities, strengths that we had during this time....I so wish many blessings on this young lady and her little bundle.  XOXO

What a beauty and only 6 days from her due date......

I so enjoyed shooting this couple who were expecting their first child during this maternity photography session.  I say "enjoyED" because this sweet momma was only 6 days away from her due date and the little punkin is already here!!  :)  They were so excited to welcome their new baby to the world and it struck me as so sweet that they wanted to include their 7 month old lab puppy into the photos as well.  I asked her if she loved her puppy while I was shooting and she of course answered how I expected, "yes, of course".....I lovingly told her...."just wait, just wait till you get that baby boy in your arms......that is when you will know what the word LOVE truly means."  <3

Had an opportunity to do a maternity photograph session with a beautiful momma in December.  She was so sweet and soft spoken, two things that make for a good mommy.  :)  We took about 45 minutes on a rainy day to capture this beautiful experience in this family's life.  It was such a special moment to share with her.

Mom and Dad are always so important, even when our lives move us away for a season.....

I received a call from a young woman who was sharing what the next Chapter in her life was about to do, take her around the world to another continent....She wanted to put into forever a photo session for her, her parents and her sister that would memorialize "just how we are together".  So we went out to a 100 year old Paper Mill on Soap Creek and we talked about all of their funny times, sad times, stupid times, and oops just spilled the beans time!  It was so nice to see them enjoy each other, I lost my mom not too long ago and it made my heart smile to see these girls cherish their mom and dad like they did.....
